August 21, 1942 - September 30, 2025
Abraham Neufeld, a man of profound faith and boundless love, completed his earthly journey on September 30, 2025, at Boundary Trails Health Centre. Born on August 21, 1942, in Mexico, Abraham's life was a testament to the power of kindness and the strength of the human spirit. He was a loving husband, a devoted father, a cherished grandfather, and a great-grandfather whose legacy of warmth and generosity will live on through his family and the countless lives he touched.
Abraham was blessed with a large and loving family. His first wife, Anna Neufeld (nee Friesen), with whom he shared a lifetime of memories, predeceased him in 2014. Together, they raised a family of deep compassion and strong values, including their son Willy (married to Tina), and their daughters Annie Procunier and Trudy Hildebrand. His life was further enriched by his eight grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren, each of whom he adored. Abraham found love again with his second wife, Anna Neufeld (nee Harder), who also preceded him in 2022. In the final chapter of his life, he was lovingly accompanied by his wife, Susana (nee Unrau), and embraced the joys of an extended family with stepson David Thiessen and stepdaughter Mary (married to Dennis) Derksen. He is survived by two sisters and joins his five brothers and four sisters in eternal rest.
As a skilled fabricator, Abraham dedicated his professional life to crafting with precision and care, a metaphor for the meticulous attention he gave to his relationships and to his faith. He was an active member of his church and various associations, where his friendly demeanor and willingness to help made him a beloved figure.
Abraham's life was a reflection of his Christian beliefs, and he often inspired others with his words and actions. He lived by the inspiring quote, "Let your faith be bigger than your fears," and his life was a living embodiment of this principle. He never wavered in his conviction that love and faith could overcome any obstacle.
Those who knew Abraham will remember him as a faith-filled, loving, and friendly man. His smile was a beacon of hope, and his words a source of comfort. He believed in the power of community and the importance of lending a hand to those in need, living out the Christian call to love thy neighbor as thyself.
In every aspect of his life, Abraham Neufeld was a man who planted seeds of love and watched them grow into bountiful gardens of community, family, and faith. As we celebrate Abraham's life, we are reminded of the message in Matthew 5:16, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Abraham's light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
