
Alice, the only child of the late Joseph A. and Mary M. (Karnik) Suda was born on January 11th, 1938 in Veseleyville, ND, where she grew up on a farm. She graduated from St. Aloysius Academy in Oakwood, ND in 1955, where she met her future husband. Following graduation she worked as a telephone operator for Northwestern Bell in Grafton, ND.
Alice was united in marriage to Donald Demers on October 21, 1958, in Veseleyville, ND. The couple made their home in Oakwood. Alice ran a daycare in her home for 30 plus years.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Oakwood and served on the Oakwood Altar Society and taught religious education for many years. Alice was a member of the Oakwood Homemakers Club, the Polka Lovers Club of America, and the Unity Medical Center Auxiliary. She and Don were also members of the Oakwood Travelers club enjoying many weekends of camping with family and friends. She loved cheering on the Oakwood Softball team and attending her children and grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, crafting, gardening and canning. She also enjoyed an occasional trip to the casinos with Don and friends.
Alice is survived by her husband of 66 years, Donald; her children Cheri Dvorak, Janet (Len) Wysocki, Grafton, ND, Guy (Susie) Demers, Gene (Kathy) Demers, Oakwood, ND, Leanne (Greg) Campbell, Grafton, ND; grandchildren: Nicholas Dvorak, Samantha (Joe) Schoepfer, Kayla Dvorak, Corey (Chelsea) Wysocki, Andrew (Samantha) Wysocki, Tommy (Nikki) Demers, (Danika) Demers, Joey (Jade) Demers, Austin Campbell, Braden Campbell, Olivia Campbell and Sophia Campbell; nine great grandchildren; Sister-in-law Cyrilla Demers and many Nieces and Nephews. She was proceeded in death by her parents Joseph A. and Mary Suda, in-laws Fred and Clarabell Demers, Brother-in law and Sister-in law Philip and Mary Jane Sevigny, Brother-in-law Ronald Demers, grandson Chad Demers and granddaughter Mary Alexandra Campbell.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, March 13, 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton. Visitation will be Thursday for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Oakwood, ND.
