Andrew C. “Andy” Gire, age 43 of Park River, ND passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024 at the First Care Health Center of Park River.
Andy was born November 24, 1980 in Grafton, ND, the son of Tim and Teresa (Fjeld) Gire. He grew up and attended school in Park River, graduating from Park River High School. He attended the NDSCS in Wahpeton for 2 years before returning to Park River. Upon returning to Park River he worked several jobs before starting at Park River Implement in 2009. He was united in marriage to Monique Lopez on December 6, 2023 in Park River. He continued working as a Precision Farming Specialist and Ag Diesel Mechanic until his health forced him to quit working in November of 2023.
He was a member of the Victory Free Lutheran Church of Park River where he also had served as a Trustee. He also served on the North Stars Youth Hockey Board. He was a die-hard Fighting Sioux Hockey fan and enjoyed gardening, grilling, cooking, attending all of his children’s activities and family vacations, especially to Duluth, MN.
Andy is survived by his wife Monique, Park River, ND; children: Zayah, Drake, Joe, and Ethan Gire, all of Park River, ND, parents Tim and Teresa Gire, Park River, ND, brother Dustin (Savanna) Gire, Fargo, ND, and uncle Jonathan Fjeld, Cavalier, ND. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Kenneth and Eleanor Fjeld and Robert and Alice Gire; uncle Mark Fjeld, Aunt Marsha (Earl) Axvig; and brother-in-law Joeluis Lopez.
Funeral services will be Friday, July 26, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Victory Free Lutheran Church of Park River, ND. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery of Park River, ND. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Park River Area Schools Lunch Program or the North Stars Youth Hockey Association. The family requests that all in attendance come in your favorite NHL or local youth hockey program gear.
