(nee Dyck)
October 11, 1933 - April 30, 2026
Anna Klassen(Ann)nee Dyck aged 92 years passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 30,2026 at Tabor Home, Morden. She was predeceased by her husband Jake on August 17, 2004 after 51 years of marriage. She is survived by her six children Carol Ann(Bill), David, Shirley, Andrew(Mary), Evelyn(Jim) and Joyce(Tom) and eight grandchildren; Michelle,Devin,Lana, Kyle, Branden, Nathan, Brittany and Shawn. There are also three great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
Mom was hardworking. She helped Dad run one of his two businesses, the Foothills Greenhouses as well as running a busy household of six children. In later years Mom and Dad worked a two year term with MCC in Louisiana. From what I read in her journal, she enjoyed her time working at a Day Care with babies. When they returned to Winkler Mom and Dad continued with MCC managing the Winkler MCC Thrift Store as well as advocating for many immigrant Mexican Mennonite families.
When Mom and Dad moved to Plum Coulee she finally got her wish to have her own job. She took some training and worked as a Homecare worker for quite a number of years.
We know she enjoyed it because she reminded others she too had done health care.
Ann was a member of the Winkler Sommerfelder Church where she taught Sunday School for a number of years. She also served on the Ladies Auxiliary for many years.
Mom had numerous health issues over the years but she wanted to remain fiercely independent. She chose to move to Buhler Active Living Center with the intention of moving to the second floor for long term care. She got her wish but in last year and a half it was deemed necessary to move to a long term care facility, Tabor Home.
We as a family are very thankful of the great care she got at both BALC
and Tabor Home.
