She is predeceased by her husband John Z Hoeppner and granddaughter Jaylene Hoeppner.

Mom often shared her story of her father passing away when she was 2 and how Grandma Bergen was left to raise her family of 4 children on her own. At the early age of 12, Mom started her career.
Mom started to work at the Weir family farm in the Miami area. As Mom got older, she had the privilege of working at the Morden Hospital along with Grandma Bergen and Mom’s 2 sisters. This was her dream job! Life long friendships developed. These gals knew how to laugh and have fun while working. Mom shared fond memories of Dr Jim popping into the kitchen with his big grin! Annie, he said, “you just make the best food”! Yes Mom you certainly did! Mom learned so much during her time cooking at the hospital. She has kept many old time recipes from her time there. It was here where Mom met our Dad. Sounds like many relationships developed out by the backdoor of Morden Hospital.
Mom was baptized in April 1956 at the Winkler Sommerfeld Church by Bishop John Friesen.
Mom and Dad married on June 26, 1960.
They were blessed with 3 sons and 1 daughter.
Mom was Dad’s right hand! Mom worked very hard on the farm. She shared many stories of the cows she milked. Mom made many meals. She served everyone who was on the farm. Family, friends, neighbours, hired hands, plumbers, electricians All were welcome.
Mom and Dad moved to town, where they enjoyed many retirement years. They enjoyed travelling, camping, and fishing. Mom loved her garden. Once retired, she could take all the time to tend to her flowers and yard.
Mom and Dad served at the Morden EMMC church for many years as deacons. This was a huge step for Mom, but God equipped her. Mom trusted Jesus as her Lord and Saviour. She read her bible daily, and enjoyed her devotion time with God. She wanted to grow in her relationship with her Lord. Mom enjoyed the hymns and listened daily to the gospel hymns on her red radio.
Mom was a prayer warrior. Mom prayed for her family and taught us about Jesus and what a relationship with Jesus looks like. Mom left a legacy of faith and servanthood. Mom had open eyes and saw the people around her, serving with generosity and selflessness. Soup, pies and buns were a staple to give to others. God was Mom’s rock on which she stood. Her anchor firm and secure.
Psalm 62: 1 & 2
“Truly my soul finds rest in God. My salvation comes from Him. Truly He is my rock and my salvation. He is my fortress I will never be shaken “
We would like to thank all of the staff at Tabor Home, Swan Lake Hospital, Boundary Trails Hospital for the loving care provided for Mom over these past 7 years. Blessings to each of you for your love and compassion for Mom.
