She leaves to mourn her passing one son, Sean Kryminski of Winnipeg, MB, as well as many friends and family.
Betty was born in rural Manitoba, growing up on a farm before relocating with her family to Morden, MB where she attended Maple Leaf Elementary school. Relocating again to Winnipeg, MB, Betty graduated from Glenlawn Collegiate in 1968 and eventually began a 30 year career with the Manitoba Government; retiring in 2011.
She was married for 22 years and had one son, Sean born 1989, both of which were very close with their family in Morden. They visited often each season throughout the years at the family home, celebrating the holidays with one another with large dinners and gatherings with friends. Betty loved to spend the summer time in her mother's garden, bringing home with her jams and baked goods until the next trip into town.
Having spent time on the farm, Betty was an animal lover and had a particular soft spot for cats. She loved her two Siamese cats and would often tell fun stories about the trouble they would get into. In her later years she provided a home for a shelter cat, Simon, who was loved both by her and Sean.
Betty was known to be a bright, assertive woman who prioritized being a mother above all other duties. She took responsibilities seriously while maintaining a soft, nurturing demeanor often putting the needs of others before her own. Her personality was sunny and it wasn't uncommon to get pulled in by her gentle charm.
Her legacy lives on through her loved ones and the many lives she impacted throughout her life. She will be sorely missed and always remembered by those who were blessed enough to know her.
Betty was predeceased by her brother Billy Friesen (2006); mother Ann Friesen (nee Wolfe) (2007); sister Mary Gerbrandt (2009) and brother-in-law Jim Gerbrandt (2007); brother Wally Friesen (2013), and father Jake Friesen (2014).
