William Bruce Froese
August 1, 1957 - November 30, 2024

William was born to Helen (nee Friesen) and John Froese of Winkler, MB on August 1, 1957. William was predeceased by his Father and Mother, John and Helen Froese, his Brothers John and Abe Froese, his Sister Marge Elias, 1 Sister-in-law Lena Froese and Brother-in-law John Hydrochuk.

William is survived by his wife Eva (nee Klassen) Froese her Mother and Father Katrina and Henry Klassen. He is survived by his Brother-in-law Tom and Ashley Klassen, Sister-in-law’s Martha and Tina and their Families.

William is also survived by his Sisters Judy (John) Hydrochuk, Mary Blatz, Tina and John Krahn, his Brother-in-law Ed Elias, his Sister-in-law Cindy Froese, his Brothers Jim Froese, Frank & Barb Froese, his Sister Susan and Richard Zelmer, his Brothers Peter Froese and Menno Froese and all their Families.

Private Family Funeral will be held at a later date.

Ruth Buhler
(nee Krushel)
May 3, 1934 - November 30, 2024

Ruth Buhler was born to Adolf and Martha Krushel on May 3, 1934. She went to heaven on Saturday November 30. She grew up in Morden but attended high school in Briercrest, Caronport, Saskatchewan. As early as 12 years of age, Ruth dazzled people with her ability to play the piano. Stories have it if she sat down at the piano, a crowd gathered very shortly impressed with her ability to rattle the keys. After marrying her childhood sweetheart, John Buhler in 1954, they lived in Selkirk, Mb for 3 years. Their oldest daughter Patricia Jane was born there. They returned to Morden where John started his first garage business. Douglas John and Sharon Ruth were both born in Morden. Ruth and John were very hospitable, entertaining many with her great cooking skills as well. Their marriage lasted 25 years. Ruth is known for her generosity, always looking for a need to meet.

Ruth is the last in a family of 8 to pass on, predeceased by Herman and Susie Krushel, Dave and Aloma Krushel, Leonard and Frieda Krushel, Ernie and Dorothy Krushel, Sisters Ida and Fred Bucholz, Dorothy and Don Nagazina, Danie Krashel, whose wife Mary Ann still lives in Morden, one infant grandson, Andre Michael Schroeder. Her family remaining are Larry and Patti Schroeder of Morden. Their son, Ashley and Rachael, Izzy and Paisley, of Columbia, Tennessee, their daughter Ainsley and Jordan Kroeker, Franklin, Quinton and Jack of Winkler.

Doug Buhler of Winnipeg. Sharon and Harold Bergen of Winnipeg, their daughter Brittany and Scott Thiessen Bentley and Macie of Morden, Son Evan Bergen of Sandy Hook, Son Caleb Bergen of Winnipeg. Ruth lived her last 5 years in assisted living in Winnipeg.

Angela Jane Somers

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Angela jane Somers, surrounded by family and friends, on November 30, 2024. She joined her Mother (Shirley), Father (Ross) and Brother (Sheldon) in eternal rest.

She leaves behind to mourn, Her life partner John McPherson (Clark), Her children Dallas (Ben) VanHoek, Daniel (Samantha) Somers, Brooke (Rob) Somers along with 16 grandchildren & 1 great grandson on the way and close friend Warren (Charlene) Somers.

Angie was the life of the party, she was family oriented and loved her children and grand kids with everything she had. Angie loved to craft and draw, she worked for 20+ years in health care because she had a passion for helping others. Angie was born in Quebec, and moved to carman with her mom and step dad when she was 9 years old.

She leaves behind many loving friends who will carry on her spirit.

Grace Hoffarth, of Grand Forks, ND, and formerly of Maida, ND, passed away November 30, 2024, at Edgewood Senior Care in Grand Forks. 
Grace was born March 17, 1936, to Frank and Loretta Girodat at Mount Carmel, ND. She grew up on the family farm near Wales. She was united in marriage to Ronald Hoffarth on April 15, 1958. To this union two children were born, Betty Ann and Frank Dominic. Grace worked at numerous restaurants in the Langdon area and at Jack’s Bar in Maida for over 40 years. 
She is survived by her daughter, Betty Nelson; daughter-in-law Janice (Charlie) Engen; grandchildren: Jessica (Terry Engebretson) Nelson, Daniel Nelson Jr., Brandie McCleary, Morgan (Damion Macho) Hoffarth and Evan Hoffarth; great-grandchildren Karlie Engebretson and Bentley Hoffarth; brother-in-law Walter Simonson; and special nieces and nephew: Arlene, Donny, Jolene and Kathy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ron; son Frank; grandson Alex Nelson; her parents; and siblings: Mathias, Alan and Cliff Girodat, Delores Hoffarth and Fern Simonson. 
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at St. Alphonsus Church in Langdon, ND. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 4, 2024, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at Brooks Funeral Home in Langdon. Burial will be at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Mt. Carmel, ND.

Clark W Werry, age 61, passed away peacefully Nov 29, 2024 with his family at his side. After his courageous journey over the past year navigating pancreatic cancer he leaves to mourn everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Funeral service will be Friday, June 13th 2pm at the Carman Community Hall. Please wear your favorite Chevy shirt or Green Bay packer apparel.

The family wishes to sincerely thank everyone who supported Clark on his journey. We cannot believe the outpouring of kindness and generosity we have experienced. In saying that we ask that in lieu of flowers you follow in Clark’s footsteps and exercise an act of kindness to make someone smile.

Allan Weber, 65, of Devils Lake, North Dakota passed away on November 29, 2024 at CHI, St. Alexius Health, Devils Lake Hospital. 
 Allan was born on October 21, 1959 to Mary Ann Fah and Leo Weber in Devils Lake, North Dakota. He grew up in Calio, North Dakota and Devils Lake, North Dakota. Allan had two children from a previous marriage. 
Throughout Allan’s lifetime, he enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family and grandkids. He especially loved traveling in his motorhome and sightseeing. His last employment was Subway in Devils Lake and he loved to visit with all the customers. 
He is survived by his children, Sandy Thompson (Jared Williams) and Steven Weber and also his grandchildren, Austin, Brayden, and Davian. He also raised one child Shaina, and she has a child named Xaylee, who he doted on. He is survived by one brother Lawrence Weber (Patsy) of Devils Lake, two sisters, Linda Heit (Denny) of Valley City and Lisa Myers (Clyde) of Alsen, North Dakota. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. 
 He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Leo and a special friend Bonnie. 
There will be visitation at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Friday, December 6, 2024 beginning at 9:00 a.m. with a Funeral Service at 10:30 a.m.  Burial will be in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, rural Calio, ND immediately following the funeral service. We would like everyone to please join us at the Calio cemetery following the funeral. Following the burial, we would like everyone to join us at the Spirit Lake Casino 7889 ND-57, St. St. Michael, ND 58370, for lunch and fellowship. Meal will be at your own expense. 

Tyson Francis King Sr., “Inyan Duta” of St. Michael ND passed away on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2024 at the age of 41.
The Wake for Tyson will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2024 at St. Michael’s Wellness Center beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. The procession to St. Michael will leave at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday from City Plaza, Devils Lake.
Funeral Service will be at St. Michael’s Wellness Center on Monday, December 9, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. with burial in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Richard Street will officiate at the services. 
Tyson Francis, son of Cedric King and Gloria Redroad was born on October 17, 1983 in Devils Lake ND. He attended his early elementary grades at Fort Totten and then grades 3 through 12 at Devils Lake, graduating from Devils Lake High School.
He was skilled as a carpenter and worked in the St. Michael area for several years.
Tyson loved his family with his whole heart. He is gone from our sight, but never from our hearts. Love to our son, dad, brother, uncle, nephew, grandpa and cousin. Rest in peace.
Tyson’s loving family include his mother Gloria Redroad; son Tyson F. King Jr.; brother Lyman Redroad; sister Yolanda (Pedro) Meyers; many precious aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and cousins.
He was reunited with his dad Cedric and sister Valorie Redroad and many other dear relatives.
Pallbearers will be Troy Lovejoy, Jeff Whiteshield, Vassago Redroad, Pedro Meyers, Gary Johnston and Chauncy Sandness.

Sharon Schuler, of Devils Lake formerly of Fargo and Munich, ND passed away Wednesday morning, November 27, 2024 at her home at Eventide Lake Country Manor, Devils Lake. 
Sharon Gayle Schuler, age 86, was born on January 28, 1938 in Langdon, ND the daughter of Victor and Esther (Heldt) Wirth. She grew up in Munich, ND graduating from Munich High School. 
Sharon married Alphonse “Al” Schuler on September 24, 1957 in Munich. The couple made their home in Munich, where they lived and participated in community events. After raising their children, they moved to the family farm in 1985. A lighting strike destroyed the home in June 1986. Sharon and Al rebuilt a beautiful home and lived there until retiring and moving to Fargo in 2007. Al passed away April 12, 2008. Sharon continued living in Fargo until moving to Devils Lake in 2013. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. 
Sharon enjoyed hosting family gatherings and holidays while living on the farm. She will be missed by her loving family. Survivors include her children: Vicki (Wesley) Wood, Rock Lake, ND; Alan (Cindy) Schuler, San Tan Valley, AZ; Curtis (Colleen) Schuler, Devils Lake, ND and Lori (William) Walsh, Charlotte, NC; grandchildren: Brenda Wood, Scott (Kjirsten) Wood, Mindy (Cassidy) Campbell, Alex (Jenna) Schuler and Krista Walsh; great grandchildren: Ashton Brown, Wyatt, Tanner and, MaKayla Campbell and Harleigh and Brielle Wood. Sharon is also survived by her sister, Colleen Fischer, Gold Canyon, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Alphonse; parents; sister, Beverly Thornton and brother, Terry Wirth; brothers-in-law Perkins Thornton, Elmer (Bill) Fischer, Don Hareland and sister-in-law Pam Schuler.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 6, 2024 at Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake from 5:00 – 7:00 pm with a Rosary and Scripture service at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 10:30 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church. There will be a time of fellowship at the Parish Center following the funeral mass. Burial will be Monday, December 9, 2024 in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND.

John Christopher Murray, 89, of Carman passed away peacefully on November 27, 2024 at Carman Hospital.

John was born January 12, 1935 at the home farm south of Graysville to Jack and Stella (Stow) Murray. John was predeceased by his wife of 56 yrs, Madeliene in 2015 and his brother Donald in 2014. John is survived by his three sons Clinton (Marsha), David (Teck), Kevin (Suzanne) and daughter Pam, grandchildren Kyla, Brad, Sam, Kris and Stuart plus six great grandchildren, brother in law Alvin (Barb) Eby plus many nieces and nephews.

John was a devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather and friend to so many people. A farmer, dedicated member of the community who spent years on the School Board, Member of the Graysville United Church and several other committees. John was a competitor and passed that spirit on to his kids. He was a great southpaw in the baseball leagues of the 1950’s and a curler most of his life. John and Madeliene enjoyed camping and golfing after retirement. A visit over a cup of coffee with a sweet treat was always welcomed.

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 12th, 2025 at the Active Living Centre in Carman from 2-4 pm for time to share stories and enjoy a coffee and a sweet.

Lori Helt, 63, formerly of Hannah, ND, passed while surrounded by family on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at her residence in Hillsboro, ND.
Lori Beth Helt was born June 21, 1961, in Park River, ND, the daughter of Virgil and Marilyn (Miller) Helt. She was raised in Hannah and attended schools in the nearby areas, graduating from Devils Lake in 1982. Lori went on to participate in a variety of programs. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts, especially drawing. She loved to spend time with her nieces and nephews. Lori always had a love for all furry animals. Lori enjoyed competing in Special Olympics, taking home several medals.
 She will be deeply missed by her sister, Bonnie (Shawn) Howatt, of Devils Lake, ND, and her family - Heather (Robert) Mayers, Aria, and Eli, of East Grand Forks, MN, Adam Howatt of Fargo, ND, and Mandy Howatt of Langdon, ND; her sister, Susan (Neil) Rundquist, of Grand Forks, ND and her family - Nathan (Alexa) Rundquist, Nolan, Bennett, Audrey, and Norah of Minnetonka, MN, Kaylee (Jason) Breidenbach, Bentley, and Ella of Thompson, ND; and her uncles, Tom Miller and Dennis (Pat) Helt.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Marilyn Helt, and grandparents: Charley and Sylvia Helt and Leon and Roberta Miller.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Brooks Funeral Home in Langdon, ND. Visitation will be held at the funeral home for one hour before the time of service. Burial will be at Hannah Cemetery.
