Arnold E. Bjerke, age 73 of Edinburg, ND, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at the Altru Hospital of Grand Forks, ND.
Arnold was born January 15, 1953 in Grafton, ND, the adopted son of the late Otto and Agnes (Nelson) Bjerke. He grew up near Adams, ND and attended schools in Adams and later Edinburg, graduating from Edinburg High School in 1971. Following his education, he began farming and worked for many years building homes for Bakke Homes. He was a self-taught carpenter and electrician, and was excellent with technology, always willing to help those in need. He was married to LuWanna Haave from 1973-1998 and together they raised their daughter Danielle, who was the light of his life. Most recently he was helping his good friend Bob Kertz on the farm along with his nephew Mike Berg.
He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Edinburg. He enjoyed farming, bowling, going to the races and spending time with his dog Mabel.
Arnold is survived by his niece Kristi Anderson, nephews: Scott and Ryan Severson, as well as many cousins and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents Otto and Agnes Bjerke, his daughter Danielle Bjerke-Hagen, and brother Hal Severson.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery of Edinburg, ND. A time of lunch and fellowship will follow at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Edinburg.
