Barry Wayne Phillips
August 4, 1939 - September 2, 2025
Peacefully, Barry Phillips passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. He is survived by his brothers, James Dale, Vernon Rae, his son Dan (Andrea), and his daughters Carla (Darrin) and Melissa (Paul), and their mother, Sally. He also leaves behind 9 grandchildren. Barry was predeceased by his parents James and Ruby as well as his brother, Alvin.
Barry was the oldest of four boys. He grew up on the family farm in Rosebank, MB. He attended a one-room schoolhouse, Ager School till grade 8 and then completed high school in Rosebank. Barry left school to join the CIBC bank in Miami. He enjoyed many years working and living in Trinidad, Toronto, and Cayman Islands. When he returned to Winnipeg, he left the bank and became self-employed until his passing.
Barry was passionate about his work and had many great experiences along the way. He enjoyed the relationships he made with people from around the world. He worked tirelessly to help clients build and grow their businesses and valued their friendships. Our dad loved every dog he ever met and always carried a pocket of treats for the dogs of our family. In his later years, he looked forward to driving out to the family farm and spending time with his brothers.
We are grateful to the staff on 4E at SBGH who provided wonderful care and showed endless kindness to our dad. Cremation has occurred and a private family ash interment will be held at the Fairview Cemetery, Roland Manitoba.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Breakthrough T1D or to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
