July 31, 1949 - December 30, 2025
It is with sadness and heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our father, grandfather and brother.
Dad was born in Mexico to Isaac and Helena Thiessen on July 31, 1949.
He was baptized on the confession of his faith in 1968 in the Reinlander church in Blumenfeld.
Dad married Annie Bueckert on July 28, 1968. This union lasted until Mom's passing on March 27, 2025.
Dad spent 3 weeks in Boundary Trails Hospital battling an aggressive bone cancer. At 5:30 pm on Dec. 30, 2025, his raspy breathing stopped, and he slipped away, leaving behind a silence we could almost feel.
Dad leaves to mourn his 4 daughters: Susan Badgley, Helen Wall, Marianne Schwitteck, and Sarahlynn Thiessen.
Dad was preceded by his wife, Annie, of 56 years, 1 son-in-law, his parents, 2 sisters, and 2 brothers.
In 2001 mom had a very serious surgery for uterine cancer. Shortly after she came home, Dad had a
heart attack at work. This led to open heart surgery.
On the day of dad's surgery, mom was scheduled for the first of 25 Radiation treatments. This was a difficult time for all of us, especially for Dad, because he couldn't take Mom for the treatments.
Together they slowly recovered, and Dad went back to work until 5 years ago when he needed a pacemaker.
Having developed macular Degeneration and Parkinson's Disease in his last few years, his quality of life had deteriorated.
We mourn but not as those who have no hope. I Thessalonians 4:13
We are grateful for visitors, Dr.’s and staff at Boundary Trails for exceptional care of our dad and to Rev. Art Wiebe as well as Wiebe's Funeral home.
