We are saddened to announce the passing of Betty Atkinson (Anderson (Dyck). Betty passed away from pancreatic cancer on April 23, 2026, at the age of 63. Betty found out about her cancer late 2025 and fought with everything she had till her passing.
Betty daughter of Betty and Cornelius Dyck will be missed by her husband Brian Atkinson, her children Sondra (Brett), Reece (Lisa), stepson Michael (Hope) and her grandchildren Logan + Ryker Stewart and Paxton Anderson. She will also be missed by her siblings Marty (Harry), Ike, Neil, John (Jean), Tina and Jessie.
Betty was born September 22, 1962, in Morden where she lived with her 6 other siblings. She later moved to Roland where she had her two children. She moved to carman for a few years before she moved to Brandon in 2015 where she moved to be with her husband Brian Atkinson. While in Roland and carman Betty was a home care nurse and later started a massage business. She got to know many people while doing this. While in Brandon, Betty started with home care till she switched to work at Super Thrifty where she would always brag about how amazing her coworkers were.
To Betty family and friends were everything. Her children and grandchildren meant the world to her. Betty was also a driving force e to make sure her family kept getting together whether it be lunch with a sibling to a full family gathering. Betty also really enjoyed coming back to Carman to visit her very good friend Buddy Peirson.
We would like to thank the amazing staff at the Brandon Regional Health Centre for the wonderful care she was given for her last few months when she was in the palliative care unit.
Memorial donations may be made to the Brandon Regional Health Center Palliative Care Unit, 150 McTavish Ave. East, Brandon, MB. R7A 2Bc
