With sadness and love in our hearts, we say goodbye to Blaine Lee Skelton, our beloved son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend, who passed away on July 3, 2025, at the age of 61. Blaine was an early Christmas present to the world, born at the Carman Memorial Hospital on December 24, 1963, to parents Elizabeth Skelton and Ronald Skelton, and sister Karen. He enjoyed the rest of his life in Carman, where over the years he put his skills to good use as a volunteer firefighter, a building inspector, a water treatment plant operator, a construction worker, and a mechanic. Blaine could fix anything and everything, and would help any neighbour, friend, or family member in need. He was a man of few words, but much action. To his nephews Benjamen and Jon and his niece Emily, Uncle Blaine was famous for his Christmas morning pizzas, hilarious birthday cards, and sarcastic humour. Blaine loved anything with a fast motor, every cat he saw, Nascar, football, hockey, his friends and neighbours, and his family and extended family. He was, and is, and will always be, loved and missed dearly.
Goodbye for now, Blaine, and we will see you again someday – ripping around the big racetrack in the sky.
Our gratitude and thanks to the teams at Carman Memorial Hospital, STARS, and St. Boniface Hospital’s Acute Cardiac Care unit, for your exceptional care and compassion.
If desired, donations can be made in Blaine’s honour to STARS. A private family service will take place at a later date.
