Breyann Terri Catherine Hammer
1996 ~ 2022
On Aug 11, 1996, Breyann came roaring into this world to be greeted by her mom, Kathy. Being the first child to a young single mom, Brey made her presence known to everyone around her. At 2 years of age, Brey welcomed Darian into her life…. but no matter what mom said…. Darian was her baby, not her brother. She had to be the one to feed him and change him. She doted on and did as much for him as she could! It was at this point that Donny, “Hammer” as Brey always loudly called him while she thanked him for the cookies, he had hidden in her diaper bag after mom said she did not need any, came into her life and stepped into the role of father. Within the next 3 years, she welcomed her sister Jaydan, and another brother AJ. She loved being a big sister and was fiercely protective of each of them.
Through her elementary and middle school years, Breyann was best known as the friendly, smart, quiet Hammer. Kathy & Donny went through a divorce at this time, and shortly later stepdad, Rej, and stepmom, Jessica, were added to the family. Our family found its last piece that we didn't even know we had been missing, and Jalynne was adopted! Now our big beautiful blended family was complete.
As Breyann entered high school, she became a force to be reckoned with. She had an opinion about things….and, everyone needed to know what it was! Shortly after high school, she was given the blessing of becoming a mother to Olivia. Her whole life changed at this point, and she threw herself whole heartedly into being a mother. Breyann went through many struggles in her short life, but no matter what was thrown at her, she never stopped fighting or trying to get and be better. When she loved you…. she would do almost anything for you. She would help you, hold you, or fight for you if she thought you needed it. She was a fierce young woman and will be missed by everyone who’s life she touched.
In the evening of Dec 9, 2022, we were given the tragic news, that Breyann had been in a car accident, she had been hit head on while on her way to work and died on impact. While we are grateful that she did not suffer, we were not ready to live this life without her in it. She was a mother, daughter, sister, matante, granddaughter, great granddaughter, niece, and friend. Every person that had the pleasure of being in her life will miss her! When she got to heaven she was greeted with open arms by her heavenly Father, great grandparents, Grammy Hammy, Uncle Paul, and of course her best friend Samm.
