Brian Cramer

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brian Cramer on June 23, 2026, at the age of 82.
Brian was born on March 27, 1944, in Leicester, United Kingdom, and moved with his family to Canada, where he grew up on a mixed farm near Baldur, Manitoba. The values of hard work, curiosity, and dedication that he learned on the farm remained with him throughout his life. Brian attended school in Baldur before pursuing his passion for agriculture at the University of Manitoba's Faculty of Agriculture. He graduated with distinction, earning the prestigious Governor General's Award in recognition of his academic excellence. Throughout his career, Brian made significant contributions to Manitoba agriculture thru primary livestock production and the time he spent working in the ag industry. His work spanned several sectors, including pork production, broiler chicken production, the feed industry, the pharmaceutical industry, and pork procurement and processing. Brian also spent over 16 years involved with Manitoba Pork at various levels. He was respected for his knowledge, professionalism, and commitment to advancing the hog industry that he was so passionate about. Brian very much enjoyed working with pork producers of Manitoba and those who supported the hog industry.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Brian found joy in life's simple pleasures. He always enjoyed having a dog by his side, Sunday drives to Baldur to visit his parents and family at the Cramer homestead, spending time fishing when he got the chance, hunting in Baldur in the fall, and supporting his children in their activities. Many treasured memories were made at hockey rinks as he enthusiastically coached and cheered on his kids during their younger years. Brian loved his perennial garden and the bird feeding station in his backyard in Carman, this is where he was the happiest. He valued friendship, family, and the outdoors, and was happiest when sharing those experiences with his friends and family. Brian will be remembered for his strong work ethic, sharp mind, quiet generosity, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched, both personally and professionally.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Carole; his sons, Doug, Brad (Crystal), and his daughter, Cathy Cramer. He also leaves behind five cherished grandchildren: Jocelyn (Doug) and Kamryn (Doug), Logan (Brad) and Zoe (Brad), and Adam (Cathy), all of whom brought him great pride and joy. Brian also leaves behind his brother John Cramer and sister Marion Whitmore, as well as sister in law Loraine Cramer. As well Wayne and Jo Anne Clarke and their families. Brian was predeceased by his parents, Jim and Irene Cramer; his brother, Barry Cramer; his brother-in-law, Glen Whitmore; and his nephew, Steven Whitmore. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, colleagues, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Their will be a graveside service at the Baldur Cemetery for family this summer.
