Carolyn Anne Winkler, 78, of Cavalier, ND, passed away Monday, July 25, 2022, at Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, August 1, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Leroy, ND. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 31, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a 5:00 p.m. rosary and prayer service at the Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND.
Carolyn was born January 18, 1944, at Altona, Manitoba to George and Yvonne (Martineau) Doyle. She grew up and attended school in the Leroy area. On March 22, 1962, Carolyn married Leonard Winkler at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Leroy. She worked in the meat department with Red Freschette at Lyle’s Jack and Jill for many years. She later worked at the Developmental Center in Grafton and retired after 20 years.
Carolyn loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed walking, dancing, Bingo, word searches, and playing cards.
She is survived by her children: Sandy (Norm) Becker, Cavalier, ND, and Darlene (Mark) Kihne, Tea, SD; grandchildren: Krystel Becker, Zach (Abby) Landon, and Anthony Kihne; step-grandson, Kenny Johnson; great-grandchildren: Avaya and Ryker Landon; siblings: Elaine Kalis, Mary Peterson, Jimmy Doyle, Frances Doyle, Junie Doyle, Ann Armstrong, Patricia Rodvold, Marie Kukuk, Grace Peletier, and Manny Doyle.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard; numerous sisters and brothers-in-law; and nieces and nephews who were very special to her.
