Chuck’s celebration of life service will be held at Dunnigan Dix Funeral Home on Friday, March 11th at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Bonnie Weaver officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Music will be provided by Catherine Anfinson and Tom Freund. Burial will be at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Cando in the spring.

He was born January 22nd, 1938 to Paul and Bernice (Newman) Israel. He was raised on the family farm east of Cando. After graduating from Cando high school Chuck entered the US Marine Corps. He spent three years at Camp Pendleton, San Diego, CA. After serving in the USMC, he attended UND and graduated in 1963 with a degree in business law and accounting. Chuck married Janice Johnson in 1960, they lived in Grand Forks until graduation then they moved to the family farm. Together they worked the farm and raised their two children, Tamri and Kirk. After retiring from the farm, they were blessed with the opportunity to travel, and during the summers they managed tourist attractions in the Black Hills and West Glacier. Throughout the 18 years they spent time at Wonderland Cave, Custer State Park and Mount Rushmore KOA. It is during these years they were blessed to have met many people and form lasting friendships. In 2009 Chuck and Janice moved back to the farm until 2012 when they relocated to Huron, SD to daughter Tamri’s home.
Grateful for sharing his life is his wife Janice and son Kirk. He is survived by brother-in -law Don Albertson, sister-in-law Linda Israel, sister-in-law Patsy (Larry) Larson, brother-in-law Lyle (Cathy) Johnson and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by daughter Tamri (his little one), his parents Paul and Bernice Israel, brother Robert Israel, sisters Darlene Albertson and Donna Mae Israel.
