Daniel Charles Hansel was born February 14, 1963, in Langdon, ND, to Joseph and Anna Mae (Koehmstedt) Hansel. He grew up in Langdon and worked at various places in the community, including John Deere, Concrete Pre-mix, Christianson’s, and for Andy Downs. Dan married Pauline Denault on November 26, 2002. He moved from Langdon and worked as a diesel mechanic for John Deere in Hillsboro, Magnum Trucking and had spent the last 13 years at Opegaard’s in Gilby. Danny’s life was centered on his family and work. He enjoyed camping and going out to eat. He was always there to help out his family and friends with whatever they needed and will be missed by many.
Surviving Danny are his wife, Pauline, of Gilby, ND; children: Samantha (Brady) Seemann, Travis (Sammantha) Hansel, Elizabeth Denault, Lucas Hansel, Sean Hoffarth, and Danielle Hansel; grandchildren: Emmett, Reed, Brandyn, Arianna, Carsen, Mason, Hudson, Bentley and Brixton; siblings: Dennis Hansel, Wayne (Debbie) Hansel, Mary Lou (Tom) Lorenz, Robert (Stephanie) Hansel, Paul Hansel, Patsy (Garold) Vaagen, and Jerry (Denise) Hansel; brother-in-law Ronnie Lenz; sister-in-law Karen Hansel; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Shirley Lenz, brothers Roger and James, sister-in-law Drina Hansel, and father-in-law Joseph Denault.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 4, 2022, at St. Alphonsus Church in Langdon, ND, with visitation from Noon until the time of the service. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Langdon.
