He was predeceased by his beloved mother Margaret and his brother-in-law Alvin Thiessen.
Daryl leaves behind his father A.L. Friesen; his sisters Carol Thiessen, Leona (Dennis) Suderman, and Darlene (Scott) McLeod; his children Jaden (Sylvia) Friesen and Nyx (Chris) Wieler, their mother Connie Klassen; and his treasured grandchildren Luke, Trey, Raya, Fia, and Drew, each of whom brought him immeasurable joy. Daryl also loved spending time with his many nephews and their families.
Daryl grew up in the small village of Schanzenfeld, where he developed strong values rooted in family, integrity, and hard work. He followed in his father’s footsteps in business, managing Economy Food Stores for many years before later becoming a successful realtor in Winnipeg. Daryl truly enjoyed his career and often said that when you love what you do, it shows.
Above all else, Daryl deeply loved his children and was immensely proud of them. Becoming a grandfather was one of the greatest joys of his life. His kindness, patience, and gentle presence made him someone they were always eager to be held by or played with.
Daryl was a kind, compassionate, and generous man—always willing to lend a helping hand or go the extra mile without being asked. His quiet strength and thoughtful nature touched many lives.
Daryl will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves behind a profound emptiness, but also countless memories filled with love, laughter, and generosity.
The family extends their deepest thanks for the prayers, kindness, and support received during this time. They take comfort in knowing that Daryl is resting safely in the loving arms of his Creator.
