Peacefully David Dyck passed away at home on Tuesday September 20, 2022 at the age of 92 to be with his Lord and Saviour.
He was born to Ernest and Hilda Dyck in Mayfair, Saskatchewan on July 28, 1930. He was baptized upon the confession of his faith. At the age of 16 the family moved from Mayfair, Saskatchewan to a farm northwest of Elm Creek. On December 2, 1961 he married Rose Goertzen from Horndean, Manitoba and they moved to the farm where he lived until he passed away.
David is survived by his wife Rose of 60 years, his daughter Valerie and son-in-law Peter Driedger all of Elm Creek. Also a sister Marion of Ashern and extended family.
He was predeceased by his mother in 1940 and his father in 1986, and his adopted brother Wayne.
David and Rose had one daughter born in 1963. Together as a family they cattle farmed. Mom and dad started out with just a few head of cattle and grew the herd of black angus to 30. Today Valerie and her husband Peter raise Simmental on the family farm. David enjoyed his cattle and his Cockshutt and Minneapolis tractors. David was a good mechanic and worked on his equipment. Dad was good at “making things fit.”
Dad’s faith was important to him and he was active in the church serving on the Missions Committee.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at Doyle's Funeral Home, Carman. Interment will follow at the Elm Creek Cemetery.
