David Bourgeois
July 28, 1958 – February 21, 2025
David Phillip Bourgeois was born in Winnipeg on July 28, 1958.
He was predeceased by his brother Roy and sister in-law Linda; his brother Jack and his mother Irene.
Mourning David’s loss is his wife of 49 years, Brenda; his children, Jason (Jeannie) and Cindy (Earl) plus 9 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Also, his father, Ernie, sister in-law, Dale; brother Jim (Linda), sister Sharon (Dennis) and brother Dan (Linda).
David was a “Jack of all trades”, repairing anything brought to him. He constructed the garage, barn and also basements for family and friends.
David worked for the RM of Dufferin for ten years, and then the town of Carman for seven years. David and Brenda farmed, raising cattle, chickens, turkeys and pigs.
He took his family on fishing trips and travelled throughout Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
In the past years David suffered with alcoholism and struggled to overcome it. Then in 2021 David was diagnosed with three types of cancer. It took a toll on him and so did the alcohol. He couldn’t beat either one.
The real David was gone a long time ago, but we could see that twinkle in his eyes telling us a part of him was still with us.
We will miss him dearly. Your loving family.
