David had a passion for camping, fishing, gardening, and solving puzzles. He especially cherished the time spent with his loving wife Mary, his daughter Angel, and his grandchildren. Known for his wonderful sense of humor, David delighted in telling jokes and cruising around Grafton, North Dakota. In 1974, he settled in Grafton and met Mary at Associated Potato. They married on October 19, 1974, and welcomed their only child, Angel, on March 23, 1975.
David is survived by his daughter Angel (Shane) Schrank; his grandchildren Alex (Jessica) Schnetzer, Madyson (Bill) Scrivener, Waylon Schrank, and Wyatt Schrank; and his great-grandchildren Peyhton Schnetzer and Odin Schnetzer. He is also survived by his siblings Cheryl Buswell, Donna Ladoucer, and Mike (Kathy) Schnetzer, as well as his sisters-in-law Norma Czapiewski, Elaine (Oral) Nikle and Eileen Vondra.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Juanita Schnetzer; his beloved wife, Mary Schnetzer; his sisters Debra and Celia Schnetzer; his nephews Larry Jay Ladoucer and Terry Joe Vondra; his great nephew Cody Martinson; his brother-in-law Morris Vondra; and his sister-in-law Jeannette Longtine.
David will be fondly remembered for his warm personality, his love for his family, and the joy he brought to everyone around him.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 2:00 PM at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton, ND. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7 with a time of sharing at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the St. John’s Catholic Cemetery of Grafton in the spring.
