Donald Leigh Pitcher was born March 6, 1964 in Park River, ND to the late Stanley and Veronica (Denault) Pitcher. He was raised and attended school in Park River. After his education, he began working in the area for local farming families. He welcomed his son Joshua in 1985, which brought joy to his life. Don enlisted in the North Dakota National Guard and served from 1991 to 1998. He continued working in the area for M Bar D, as a heavy equipment operator and Altendorf Trucking on local runs.
Don enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing and sitting around the campfire with family, running his dog, Odin on the back roads and his trips to the desert in Arizona.
Don is survived by son Joshua, Park River, ND; sisters: Eileen (Dick) Halvorson, Graham, WA, Lori Russell, Springfield, NE; brother Eldon Pitcher, Apache Junction, AZ; and sister-in-law Kathy Pitcher, St. Louis Park, MN; and he is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents, Stanley and Veronica, brothers: Marvin, Duayne, David; sister Vivian Herzog, brother-in-law, Hunter Russell, and sister-in-law, Diane Pitcher.
His presence in our family will be missed.
Graveside Services will be Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at 1:30 P.M. at the Calvary Cemetery, Park River. Military Rites will be provided by the Park River American Legion Post and the North Dakota National Guard Honor Guard.
