Sadly, with a profound feeling of loss, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, Dorothy Ann Lepage (nee Pasaluko), on Saturday, August 9 in the Notre Dame de Lourdes hospital where she was waiting placement for a care home.
She leaves to mourn, her 3 sons; Tom (Carol) Lepage, Peter (Nettie) Lepage and John Paul (Glenda) Lepage - Grandchildren Jessica (Patrick) Beauchesne, Dylan (Chantal) Lepage, Ashley Lepage, Matthew (Elizabeth) Lepage, Meagan (Jesse) Barnett, Chloe (Zach) Lepage, Mahalia (Josh) Lepage, Maceo (Maya) Lepage – Great Grandchildren Samual Lepage Salazar, Everly and Connor Beauchesne, Lucas Lepage, Lincoln and Hailey Barnett, Benjamin and Margot Lepage – Sisters Patricia Parent and Christine Buchanan as well as many nieces and nephews.
Mom was pre-deceased by granddaughter Melissa Lepage (Nov,1984) and husband Maurice Lepage (Feb 1990).
Affectionally known as “Dot” by her friends and “Baba” by her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, Mom was born March 8, 1934 to Peter and Anne Pasaluko in Pine Falls, MB.
In 1953, Mom met Maurice Lepage at a Catholic Youth meeting, they fell in love and were married on August 31, 1957. Over the next 6 years, she brought her 3 sons into the world.
Mom worked part-time during the evenings while son Paul was a preschooler and once he was in school, she reentered the work force, doing mainly administration work in Swan River, Brandon and Morden until dad passed away in 1990.
In their 32 years of marriage, Mom and Dad took up curling, playing in mixed leagues and going to bonspiels, making lifelong friendships wherever we lived. As Dad was an avid golfer, Mom took up the game on Dad’s urging and they spent some of their empty-nest years playing in Morden and going on golf holidays around the country.
After Dad had passed, Mom was able to do some traveling – mainly with sister Chris and her husband John (Bucky) and sister Pat and her husband, Bert, with whom she made her first of 2 trips to Medjugorje. She toured numerous countries in Europe, the U.K. and the Mediterranean as well as Mexico and the U.S.
Mom was a devout Catholic and her faith was of prime importance to her. She was always very active in her parish (health permitting) – singing in the choir, baking and putting in many years on the perogy-making assembly line.
Mom was loved by virtually everyone that knew her. She was a patient, gentle, loving person – quick to laugh and wielding a sly wit that could catch you off-guard. She will be terribly missed.
As per Mom’s wishes, she will be buried next to Dad at Hillside Cemetery in Morden following a funeral mass at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church on Monday, August 18 at 2:00 PM.
A public viewing will be held in the church approximately 1 hour before the mass for those wishing to say goodbye to Mom.
Our family would like to recognize and thank the medical and support staff at both Boundary Trails and Notre Dame hospitals for the wonderful care they provided Mom over the past few months.
