Edward (Ed) Holenski passed away at Boundary Trails Health Care on February 11th, 2025.
He is survived by his wife of 33 plus years, Myrna Lorraine Holenski (nee Waddingham), his step-daughter Charisse Adams (nee Smith) her children, Kyah (Jeff), Adonis and Kalah; her son Jesse (Brittney), Parker and Adeline: his step-son, Daryl (Nancy) Smith, his daughter Ashley (Meyson) Martens, and their family Bentley, Millar and Riddley. Ed's sisters: Annie Olafson and her family; Mary Prokopich and her family; Emma Smith and her family; Tina (Ken) Ure; Doreen Spence and her family. Cousin Glen (Shannon) Holenski and their family and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Ed was predeceased by his Father, Walter and his Mother, Vera; his brothers-in-law, Joe Olafson, Joe Prokopich and Dennis Spence and his step-son-in-law, Rick Adams; his parents-in-law, Russ Waddingham and Madeleine (nee Lowry) Waddingham.
Ed was born on 30-1-6, in the 1-6 district where he farmed until he moved to Morden in 2013.
Ed enjoyed 11 years of wintering in Mesa, AZ., fishing trips to Grand Rapids, bus trip to Newfoundland, on the first bus to drive to Tuktoyaktuk, to Alaska a dancing trip to Las Vegas, a motorhome trip to Alaska and numerous weekend trips for dancing and visiting with old and new friends.
A private graveside celebration of Ed's life will be held on April 13th, 2025 at the Darlingford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to Stars Ambulance.
A special thanks to the staff of BTHC, the ambulance crew, the staff of Wiebe's Funeral Chapel and to my neighbours for their taxi service, caring phone calls and visits.
