Three days before his passing, Ed wrote the following message for family and friends:
“In the event of my departure, please do not be stricken with sadness, but rather rejoice. I have won the victory in Jesus. Let there be singing, lots of singing of praise, honour and glory. I have lived a long life and God has been so good to me; never foresaken me. Give praise! Give thanks. Amen. “
