Eleanor Catherine Ann Orchard (Gibson)
Peacefully on July 26, 2025 at Carman Memorial Hospital, Eleanor passed away at the age of 94 years. Eleanor is survived by her children Bryan (Crystal), Bruce (Colleen), Wayne (Kyla); grandchildren, Austin, Liam, Ryan, Sierra, Alexander & Isabella; nieces & nephews. Eleanor was predeceased by her husband Fred, daughter Carol, parents Fred & Kay Gibson, sister Lillian & Bill Hildebrand, parents in law Clarence & Isabel Orchard, sisters in law Marjorie and Shirley & Archie Liable.
Eleanor was born in Port Arthur (Thunder Bay), Ontario and moved as a young child to Morden. Eleanor worked in Morden and then in Winnipeg as a secretary in a law firm. She met Fred while square dancing, were married and moved to the farm at Graysville. She was involved in the Carman Anglican Church. Eleanor enjoyed spending time with family, visiting with everyone and had a sweet tooth for desserts and chocolate.
A celebration service will be held at Doyle’s Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Grace-St. John’s Church, Box 575, Carman, MB, R0G 0J0.
