Eva Wiebe (Unrau), age 67, of Carman, Manitoba, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025 at Boundary Trails Health Centre, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Eve was born on April 17, 1958, in Morris MB, to parents Herman and Katherina Unrau. She married her husband, Cornie, on April 2, 1977 and they were married for 48 years at the time of her passing.
She is survived by her husband Cornie, children Terry and Tammy (Aaron), grandchildren Felicity (Jarvis), Cory (Samantha), Malia, Emily, Abigayle, Dawson, Bentley, and Tanner, and great-grandchildren Harper and Addalyn, her siblings, Mary, Tina (Cornie), Helen, Agatha (Pete), Nettie, John (Violet) and Anne (Andy). She was preceded in death by her parents Herman and Katherina, and sister Susie.
Eve was well-known for her remarkable kindness, her quiet strength, and her unwavering dedication to her family. She had a way of making everyone feel comfortable and welcome. She was a generous giver and never asked for anything in return. She met life’s difficulties with grace and resilience. No matter what challenges came her way, she still found a way to support and nurture others. She always kept her loved ones at the center of her care and attention.
Her family was her greatest love. To her children, she was a source of wisdom, security, and steady support. She was the one person you could call at any hour, no matter what the problem was. She helped in any way she could. She gave all that she had. But the most precious things she ever gave was her knowledge, her time, and her love.
To her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was a never-ending source of joy, hugs, and most of all encouragement. She was always there for them, to pick them up when they fell, to cheer them on in anything they did, and to celebrate their successes.
To all who knew her, she was a cherished presence whose absence will be deeply felt. She left an imprint on all of our hearts that will last forever.
A funeral service will be held on December 22nd, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Carman Mennonite Church, 105 Main St N, Carman.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Eve's memory to South Central Cancer Resource, in Morden, MB.
The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and the entire staff at the Boundary Trails Health Centre, the management and staff at Katie's Cottage, Pastor Mike Giesbrecht and the congregation of Gospel Light Baptist Church, and the Carman Mennonite Church, for their care, compassion, and support during this time.
The family would also like to send our thanks to Doyle’s Funeral Home for the arrangements.
