Evelyn passed away peacefully on August 1, 2024 at Carman Memorial Hospital with family by her side. She was born April 18, 1933 in Carman where she spent most of her life. Evelyn was the oldest daughter of Ross and Nellie Laycock.
Evelyn is survived by her daughter Linda (Brian Janick); their three daughters Kirsten (Cam), Megan (Paul), Ashley (Drew); and son Doug (Bev); their family Steven (Trina), Fern (Marc), Alana; and 12 great grandchildren who lovingly referred to her as Granny. Evelyn was predeceased by her loving husband Jim (2017), her brother Earl (Jean) and her sister Barb (Don).
Evelyn trained as a hairdresser and worked in Morden where she met Jim. Moving to Carman they raised their family and Evelyn volunteered time to many local charities. Jim and Evelyn cherished many winters at their home in Naples, Florida during retirement. A celebration of life will be held for the family. Interment will take place at the Greenwood Cemetery in Carman.
