Frances I. Chester was born on March 18, 1938 in Grafton, ND, the daughter of the late Charles R.and Anna Marie (Burns) Chester. She received her education at District 13 East, Marshall County, MN and went on to receive her GED and took some college courses. Frances was united in marriage to Edward A. Boulduc on October 28, 1952 in St. Thomas, ND. She and Edward initially made their home in Drayton, before farming together in Halma and Karlstad, MN. In 1970, they moved to Grafton, where she began her 27-year career at the Life Skills and Transition Center. Frances also received numerous awards during her many years as an Avon Representative in the area.
Frances was member of St. John’s the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was an avid reader, she loved to cook and bake for family and friends, and was a talented seamstress and crocheter. Frances cherished her time visiting with friends and trips to the lake, fishing and playing cards with friends. Frances will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Frances is survived by her children: Fran Coulthart (Paul Osowski), Grafton, ND, Richard Boulduc, Rapid City, SD, Michael (Sherri) Boulduc, Oakwood, ND, Mary (David) Hills, Grafton, ND, Irene (James) Olson, Grafton, ND; son-in-law: Darrell Graber, Cape Coral, FL; 11 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren with one on the way, and 16 step great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild on the way; sister-in-law Jean Boulduc, Drayton, ND, and several nieces and nephews also survive. She is preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister, her husband, daughter Beverly Graber, granddaughter Amanda Boulduc, son-in-law Larry Coulthart, and special friend Gary LeBlanc.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton. Visitation will be on Friday, December 9, 2022 from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service and rosary at 7:00 p.m. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends and family may also call at the church on Saturday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Cemetery in the spring. Memorials may be sent in Frances’ memory to First Care Health Center, Unity Medical Center, Valley Ambulance, or St. John’s Catholic Church.
