Over the past few years, he has struggled with advanced dementia.
He was born and raised in Winnipeg, Mb.
Fred built our home in 1970 in Charleswood, where we resided for 50 years up until August 2020, then moved to Carman, Mb to be close to family.
Fred enjoyed fishing, hunting and was very passionate about taking his grandsons fishing. He enjoyed downhill ski trips with family and friends. Fred enjoyed our trips to Puerto Vallarta and cruises to the Hawaiian Islands and Panama Canal with our dear friends. He enjoyed many camping trips with family. He was a loving husband, father and Papa.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 53 years, Dianne. Son Grant (Laura), Daughter Jennifer (Corby) and his 4 grandsons Owen, Dyllan, and twins Ashton & Brayden. Extended family Doreen Blackman, Shirley Gering, Dennis West and Daxx (Tammy) Natina. And special cousin Harvey Speirs of Penticton and one brother Bob (Marilynn) and family. Predeceased by his parents Phil & Margaret and in laws Oliver & Grace Wilcox

As per Fred’s wishes he will be cremated with no formal service. A private graveside gathering will be held at a later date for friends and family.
