March 2, 1946 - May 27, 2025
Harry Neufeld, 79, of Winkler formerly of Hochfeld, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 27th at the age of 79. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Anne, 1 son and his wife, 1 granddaughter, 1 grandson and his wife, 1 great-grandchild, 1 sister, and 2 brothers. He was predeceased by 4 sisters and 4 brothers.
Harry grew up on the farm in Hochfeld, where he developed a love for farming, and took over in 1973 and remained until 2015 when a cancer diagnosis motivated him to move to town.
Harry loved his family, especially his grandkids. Many Sunday afternoons were spent with the grandkids at their house driving his old tractors, snowmobiles, playing cards, and having faspa or supper. He loved being around people, which is why their house was the home of many fish fry’s, corn roasts, and evening fires.
Harry and Anne started making regular trips south in the mid 2000’s and continued until health did not allow for it anymore. They visited places such as Mexico, Chile, Cuba, and Bolivia. Harry made friends everywhere he went, and some of those friends were able to visit them in Canada as well.
Harry developed Parkinson’s, which progressed until a move to Salem was necessary. He was there for 2 years and received the best care. Thank you to the Home Care and Salem staff that cared for Harry. Your patient, loving care of Harry did not go unnoticed.
