(nee Boehlig)
July 17, 1926 - September 17, 2025
Helen Blatz (née Boehlig) passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025, at the age of 99, at Pembina Place Personal Care Home in Winnipeg. She was born on July 17, 1926, in Osterwick, Manitoba, to Ernst Emil Boehlig and Anna Boehlig. Helen was the second youngest of 12 children, all of whom, along with their spouses, predeceased her.
Helen was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and is survived by her three children, Terry (and Sheryl), Ron (and Chris), and Maxine (and Jeff), along with five grandchildren and their spouses, and twelve great-grandchildren, all of whom were a great source of joy and pride for her throughout her life.
Helen's journey began as a young adult in Winnipeg, where she worked before meeting the love of her life, Jac Blatz. They were married on October 7, 1951. Shortly thereafter, they bought a farm in Kane, Manitoba, where they raised their three children. Helen was deeply involved in the community, contributing her time and talents to the Kane Bergthaler Church women’s group and participating in numerous community events.
In 1976, Helen and Jac sold their farm and relocated to Morden, Manitoba, where they continued to build their life together until Jac’s passing. In 2009, Helen moved to Winnipeg, where she resided at Lindenwood Manor and Pembina Place Personal Care Home until her death.
Helen will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to family, her kind heart, and her involvement in her church and community. She lived a life full of love, compassion, and selflessness, and her legacy will live on through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held to honor her memory on September 22, 2025 at 11:00 am at Wiebe’s Funeral Home in Morden Manitoba.
Helen and Jac were deeply committed to their faith in Jesus and thus we expect they will be celebrating in heaven until we get to see them again. Rest in peace, Helen. You will be deeply missed by all who knew you.
