Helen Guenther

Helen Guenther nee Giesbrecht, went to her eternal home on March 9, 2025. Mom was born May 31, 1930. Her parents Peter and Helena Giesbrecht lived on a farm north of Plum Coulee. She worked hard, helping her mother with her younger siblings as well as working on the farm.
Mom was baptized in the Sommerfelder Church. She married Peter Guenther on September 13, 1953. Mom and Dad lived on a farm near Gnadenthal. They were blessed with Elaine in 1955, Verna in 1957, Elma and Edwin in 1959, Debbie and Darlene in 1964. In addition to being busy on the farm with her growing family, she was actively involved in teaching Sunday School and the community ladies sewing circle.
Mom and Dad moved to Winkler in 1990. Mom really enjoyed singing in 3 choirs and working at MCC. A few years after Dad passed, Mom moved to Garden Park. She spent the next 4 years meeting many new friends, enjoying various activities and church services.
On February 16, Mom’s life changed when she was admitted to BTHC Palliative Care following a sudden serious brain bleed. She passed on March 9.
The family wishes to thank the ER and Palliative Care staff for their compassionate care for our dear mom. Thank you for all the visits, prayers and support. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation MB or the BTHC Palliative Care program.
Mom was predeceased by her husband Peter, parents Peter and Helena Giesbrecht, brothers Bernhardt, Peter, sisters Trudy and Margaret.
Mom is survived by her daughters Elaine, Verna, Elma (Ernie) Lynden, Annalee and Katrina, Adrian (Kristelle) and Rhema. Son Edwin (Lois) Ashley (Ryan) Kaizley, Judah and Azariah, Mark (Janessa) Jaylen, Cole and Kade, Lindsay (Justin) and Evander. Daughter Debbie (Paul) Graham (Monica) and Sawyer, Spencer. Daughter Darlene (Doug) Joel (Stephanie), Ryan (Lauren) and Rocky, Jenna (Thomas) and Olive.
Mom is also survived by brother Bill (Mary), sister Mary, sister Tina and sister-in-law Shirley.
