Our mom, Helena Wiebe, was born on January 6, 1928 in Mexico. She married our dad, Bernhard Wiebe, on June 29, 1947. Their first 5 children were born in Mexico. In 1958, they moved to Belize where their other 5 children were born. They lived in Belize until 1978, a total of 20 years. In 1978, they made the move to Canada.
In 1998, Dad passed away and Mom lived as a widow for the next 27 years. After Dad’s passing, Mom made the move to Cedar Estates in Winkler where she lived until April 16, 2024. At that time, she went to live at Salem Home in Winkler.
Some things Mom enjoyed during her time at Cedar Estates were volunteering at MCC and making meals to share with people in her building. She also enjoyed helping the serving group at her church. Family was very important to Mom. She was always baking cookies and making soup for us. Sunday faspa was often shared with whoever showed up.
Mom was blessed with 10 children, 34 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Mom was predeceased by her parents and all of her siblings, her husband, one daughter, three sons, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one son in-law.
