Helena Wiebe (nee Loewen) Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Helena Wiebe. She reached an age of 60 years 10 months and 14 days. She passed away on Sunday, May 18th 2025 at Boundary Trails Hospital in Winkler after a courageous battle with cancer. Helena was born on July 4th 1964 in Chihuahua Mexico to Ben and Maria Loewen. She was born and raised in Mexico. In 1983 She was baptized in the Sommerfeld Church and shortly after she married her husband Peter. Together they have five children four daughters and one son.
In 2013 She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, she stayed strong in her faith all the way till the end, she never doubted or questioned her faith she had the full assurance that she would be with her Lord when she passed away. In 2013 they moved to Alberta, then moved to Winkler where they lived the last two years.
She was diagnosed with cancer on April 15th 2025, on May 1st She received the news that they wouldn't be able to do any treatments as the cancer had spread too far already. On May 7th She was admitted into the hospital where she was treated until the end.
She was a devoted, wife, mother, and grandmother. Helena's life was marked by her deep love for her family and others and her unwavering kindness and compassion, she will be deeply deeply missed.
She was predeceased by her parents Ben and Maria. She leaves behind to mourn her husband, Peter, her children, Betty (Peter), Martha (Elvin), Tina (Heina), John (Esther) and Irma (George) and their 21 grandchildren, siblings, extended family, and many friends.
We sorrow not as those who have no hope, but fully believe that she has gone to be with her Lord and Saviour to enjoy the beauty of heaven forevermore.
Our family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for all the support we have received, especially the body of Christ for all the prayers, love and care and all the encouraging words, also for all the financial help and so many meals were dropped off for our family during this difficult time, we were loved and cared for deeply. We are grateful beyond words we appreciate everyone that was involved.
Lastly, we would also like to thank all the doctors and nurses for taking such good care of Helena while she was in the hospital and also for Wiebe funeral home for their excellent service!
