January 25, 1940~ October 8, 2025
It is with sadness that the family of Henry Peters of Morden, MB announces his passing on October 8, 2025, at Meadowood Manor Personal Care Home after a courageous lengthy battle with dementia and the effects of a debilitating stroke
Henry lived life to the fullest and leaves a legacy of love, laughter, and wonderful memories that his family and friends will cherish in their hearts forever. Henry had an enthusiastic outlook on life before the dementia took hold of him, he could fill a room with joy with his smile and his generous and compassionate spirit.
Henry was the youngest child of nine children that lived into adulthood.
Margaret Rose Hildebrand came into his life as a young man and they married August 26, 1962. Rose passed away in February 2009.
They had three children and Henry loved spending time with his family. Henry always remained a child at heart and loved playful interactions with his children, even when they were adults. Henry took his father role for his family seriously and he needed to be a reliable provider for his family.
Henry and Rose loved camping, fishing, and nature walks. They enjoyed being close to nature and helped them feel close to God when navigating difficult situations in their life. One of the hardest things they had to face was the death of their son Darryl in 1996. Darryl’s passion for Jesus was pivotal for Henry and Rose; they rededicated their lives to the Lord and lived in the confident hope of their salvation and living for eternity
Henry will be missed and lovingly remembered by his children and grandchildren, Randy and Carol (Nathanael and Nevaeh Peters); Sheri and Chris (Jarod and Brandon Fehr); daughter-in-law Karen (Allison, Michelle and Joel and Zoe Peters), the Hildebrand family, the Peters family and many friends.
We thank family and friends for their love, kindness, prayers and support during Henry’s 16 year long battle that he had to endure without being able to communicate and care for himself. Many thanks to everyone at Meadowood Manor who had Henry in their care for over 15 years, they provided extraordinary efforts and encouragement as they cared for Henry and our family members during the last 15 years of his life.
A celebration of Henry’s life will be held in a private ceremony with family members.
If desired, memorial contributions can be made to Meadowood Manor, Winnipeg Mb.
