On Tuesday, February 4, 2025, Ina Toews of Plum Coulee, passed away peacefully at Salem Home in Winkler with family by her side.
Ina Helen Toews (nee DeFehr) was born October 7, 1938, to Isaac and Annie DeFehr. She was the oldest of 8 children. Ina was baptized upon confession of her faith at the
Sommerfeld Mennonite Church and her faith never wavered.
In 1960 Ina met Bill, the love of her life. They were married on February 25, 1962, they were 21 days short of their 63rd wedding anniversary. Their marriage was blessed with two sons, Barry and Dale, and one daughter, Cheryl.
She was predeceased by her son Barry, her parents, parents-in-law, 2 sisters, 1 brother, 5 sisters-in-law, and 7 brothers-in-law.
She is survived by her husband Bill, her son Dale (Betty), her daughter Cheryl (Pete), daughter-in-law Esther, 8 grandchildren and their spouses, and 7 great-grandchildren.
We would like to thank Wiebe’s Funeral Home, Salem Home Evergreen and Cottonwood units, Pastor Glen Siemens and Vern Wiebe, all the church staff and serving group for all their services. Thank-you to all the friends and family for all your love and support during this difficult time.
