James Wendell Gunhus, age 72, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly at his home in Adams, ND.
Jim was born September 20, 1951 in Grafton to the late Ernest and Helen (Dahlgren) Gunhus. He grew up on the Dahlgren homestead farm. He attended Dewey Country School through fifth grade then graduated from Adams Public School in 1969. He became an electrician at the Wahpeton State School of Science followed by an electrical engineering degree at NDSU. He worked at a nuclear power plant in Arizona until returning to Adams to care for his parents. Jim was always very shy and quiet and was never comfortable in crowds of people.
He was predeceased by his parents and older brother, Gene. He is survived by his sister Leanne (Wes Gilbart), nephews Jamie (Ashley) and David (Cindy), niece Kayla (Adam) great nephews Grayson and Bodhi, and great nieces Skylar, Locklyn, Berklee, Everleigh, and Vayda.
A graveside memorial service will be held at the Gustavus Adolphus Cemetery rural Adams (Swedish Church) in the spring.
