Janice F. Townson

Janice F. Townson, age 67 of Park River, ND passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022 at First Care of Park River.
Janice F. Svir was born April 10, 1954 in Walsh County, North Dakota the daughter of the late Harry and Rose (Erovick) Svir.  She was raised and attended school in Park River.  She met and married Carl Townson on May 29, 1971 in Warren, Minnesota.  They had two beautiful children, Lynda and Gloria. 
Janice was the primary caregiver to Carl, after a tragic accident in 1983, which left him paralyzed.  She was a hard worker, who lovingly took care of her husband and raised her children.  After Carl passed away in 2005, Janice began working for Borg Pioneer Memorial Home in Mountain, ND and for Larson Farms during potato harvest.
She was an animal lover, a BINGO aficionado, and enjoyed spending time gardening and preserving.  Janice was a proud grandmother and great grandmother, loving the moments when she had time to spend with all of them. 
Janice is survived by her children: Lynda (Jacob) Townson Grand Forks, ND and Gloria (Chris) Laber, Little Fork, MN; grandchildren: Cody Patzner, Ashley (Dustin) Eastgate, and Dharma (Chance) Muller; great grandchildren: Eli, Isaac, and Isabel Eastgate and Gunner Muller; special friend: Andy Nupdal and several grand dogs.  She was preceded in death by her parents; brother and sister-in-law, Bob (Viola) Johnson and nephew, Terry Johnson.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Park River, ND.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  Inurnment will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in the spring of 2022.
