Born on April 26, 1934, Jessie lived a life defined by hard work, resilience, and deep devotion to her family. Jessie married the love of her life Alvin Wood on August 23, 1952. As a hard-working farmer, she was intimately connected to the land, balancing the rigorous demands of farm life with her roles as a devoted mother and caregiver. Her family was the center of her world, and she poured her heart into nurturing her husband and children every day. Years after farming when they moved to town Jessie also worked in homecare for several years caring for others which she also thoroughly enjoyed.
Beyond her work on the farm, Jessie was a woman of many creative talents. She was an avid knitter and enjoyed the intricate art of ceramics, often creating pieces that will remain as cherished keepsakes for her family. More than any hobby, she truly loved visiting with her family, finding her greatest joy in the simple moments spent together.
Jessie is survived by her loving daughters Bev (Gerry) DeRoo, Mary (Wes) McNiel, Dianne (Henri) Grenier, Judy Timmerman and her son Randy Wood (Leslie). She also leaves to mourn one sister Barb (John) Christiansen.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Alvin Wood (2001) one son in law Jerry Timmerman (2010) and one grandson Clayton Van Damme (2025).
Cremation has taken place and a private celebration of her life will be held in the spring followed by ash interment at the Swan Lake Cemetery.
