August 16, 1951 – June 11, 2025
It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved husband, dad and gramps, Jim, on June 11th, 2025, at the age of 73.
He leaves to mourn his wife of 40 years, Diane; daughters and their husbands, Dara (Warren Dyck) and Chandra (Brett McLean); and grandchildren, Teagan and Emmett Dyck. Sister Marie Seymour and his nieces and nephews, who were very dear to him.
He was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Ruth Hunt, his brothers, Jack Bryson, Walter Bryson, and Doug Hunt, and his sister, Mavis Schmidt, as well as his sisters- and brothers-in-law.
Jim was born in Morden and raised in Darlingford. He moved to Morden in 1982, where he married the love of his life on February 16, 1985. Together, they raised their two daughters in Morden.
Dad was an exemplary individual who left an incredible mark on the lives of everyone he touched. It is difficult to articulate the profound impact he had on our family and the community at large, as his presence was a beacon of kindness, compassion, and selflessness. His smile and warm demeanor endeared him to all who crossed his path, making him a beloved fixture in our city.
Throughout his life, Dad demonstrated a relentless commitment to volunteering, dedicating countless hours to bettering the community he cherished. He tirelessly worked to ensure its growth and prosperity. Despite his many achievements, however, it was his role as a devoted family man that brought him the most joy. He beamed with pride when speaking of his grandchildren, and his dedication to their well-being was unshakeable. Always a front row seat to their hockey and baseball games and practices.
Dad’s clever sayings often left people laughing, and these lighthearted moments will remain cherished memories for years to come.
Dad was loyal, athletic, compassionate and loving, and had an incredible work ethic. His vast heart filled with love and generosity continues to inspire us even in his absence.
Family, friends, colleagues, and teammates were all so very important to Dad. Thank you to each one of you who played such an important role in Dad’s life and for meaning so much to him and Mom.
As we reflect on Dad’s remarkable life, we are reminded of the profound influence he had on our lives and the lives of those around him.
His legacy will live on through the countless hearts he touched, and we will continue to draw strength from his unwavering kindness, compassion and generosity.
We are thankful that he is now safe and at peace in the arms of Jesus. We know we have our very own guardian angel.
It’s not goodbye, it’s see you later.
We are so grateful for the staff at Boundary Trails Health Centre, STARS, and Health Sciences Centre SICU unit for their unbelievable care and support.
