Joaquín was born in Mexico City February 25th of 1969, the year men got to the moon as he liked to say. He was the first child of Luz María Vargas and Joaquín Mota Padilla.
In 1993 he backpacked through Europe, celebrating he had graduated as a Mechanical Engineer. From this trip he had many anecdotes. After he came back to Mexico he began working at Ford, where he met a lot of his good friends. Always passionate about his job, he was always reading and studying about Industry and Technology.
In 1994, at a Miguel Bose´s concert he reconnected with his High School crush Araceli Fernandez and in 1996 they got married. After a few years, the couple decided to migrate to Canada and there, in 2005 Joaquin Jr. was born.
The Mota Family arrived to Morden in 2009, when Joaquin worked at SWM. Morden became their hometown, where they found kind and caring people that have proven to be good friends. Joaquin became a Knight of Columbus as a way to reach closer to the community he felt as part of his home.
Joaquin was an avid reader, he liked Fiction and History, also liked learning languages.
He volunteered as a tennis coach, a sport he enjoyed very much.
He traveled to many places both for work and for family vacations. He ate food he enjoyed very much and had several collections like toy cars, fancy pens and Hard Rock Cafe glasses.
“One day at a time.” was his motto this last year as he struggled with cancer. Friends from Mexico, from Canada and family members were very present in Joaquin´s life, and in the hard times he always received their support. He met the many goals he pursued and, although he has left too soon, with no doubt his life was very rich and full of won battles.
