He is survived by Esther, his beloved wife of 25 years, her children and grandchildren — Clinton (Megan, Dane, Mia), Lynne (Wes), and Lorretta (Chris, Theo, Meredith). He is also survived by his son Michael Voth and daughter Angela Bergmann, son-in-law Mike, and grandchildren Caleb, Joshua, Andrew, Natalee, and Wyatt. We are grateful that John is at home with the Lord.
John worked many jobs during his life. He will be remembered best as a skilled heavy-duty mechanic. But it was his love of God and study of the Bible that brought him his deepest joy. He longed to see everyone he knew, especially his family, come to have a personal, saving relationship with Jesus Christ. In his final months when communication became increasingly frustrating for him, John was always comforted and encouraged through prayer, hymns, and the reminder that he would one day receive a new body in heaven.
“Although my memory’s fading, I remember two things very clearly: I am a great sinner and Christ is a great Savior.” John Newton
A private family service will take place at the Winkler Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank-you for the exceptional care from the Tabor Home staff. They always treated John with gentleness and respect. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Tabor Home in Morden.
