Joyce Elaine Carson-Foisie, 91, of Walhalla, ND went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Walhalla Assembly of God Church in Walhalla, ND. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour before the time of services on Tuesday.
Joyce was born May 10, 1935, near Leroy, ND, the daughter of Otenious and Sarah (Sisson) Hendrickson. She married William R. Carson in September of 1951, and they farmed south of Vang, ND.
Joyce was a member and very active in the Walhalla Assembly of God Church and enjoyed serving in nearly every capacity. She had a variety of jobs including teaching in a one room country schoolhouse, bookkeeping at the Walhalla State Bank and RMD Potato Sales. In Arizona she was a certified ceramic teacher.
In June of 2015, Joyce married Lloyd Foisie. They enjoyed going places together and playing cards.
Her favorite things to do were spending time with and playing with grand and great-grandchildren and playing cribbage and pinochle with her best friends.
Survivors include her children: Rhonda (Dean) Baker, Harlem, MT, Cheryl (Rodger) Hartz, Cavalier, ND, Carla (Brian) Kiner, Bathgate, ND, Jeff (Jana) Carson, Vang, ND; daughter-in-law, Ann Carson, Walhalla, ND and many grand and great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husbands, William R. Carson and Lloyd Foisie; son, Terrance Carson and siblings: Alvin and Lester Hendrickson, Vivian Dame and Darleen Tesmer.
