Obituary for Karl Gerhard Redekop
(June 06, 1949 - July 24, 2025)
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Karl Gerhard Redekop on July 24th, after a courageous battle with cancer and Parkinson’s.
Karl was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud Opa. He is survived by his beloved wife, Rosella; his two children, Robbyn Boulanger (Anders) and Christopher (Katie); and his treasured grandchildren: Esmée and Keaton, children of Robbyn and Anders; and Hayden, Elliott, Elliot, and Andrew, children of Chris and Katie. His family will carry forward his legacy of kindness, compassion, and quiet strength.
A lifelong educator, Karl made a lasting impact in his roles as a middle school teacher and high school principal. His warm sense of humor, calm demeanor, and genuine care for students and colleagues alike made him a trusted mentor and friend to many.
Later in life, Karl extended his gift for guidance and support beyond the classroom through his work at Star 7, where he helped countless newcomers to Canada find a sense of belonging and build a new life in Manitoba.
Karl will be remembered not only for the lives he touched through his work, but for the love he gave so freely to his family and community. His gentle presence, steady encouragement and humour will be deeply missed.
