Born March 11, 1957, to Leta and Russ McDowell.
She grew up on the family farm. Mom is predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her husband Clinton. Her children; Patrick (Jody), Tracey (Alex) and
grandchildren Axel, Otto, Prairie. Her brother Jim (Rosemary) McDowell and a wide circle of friends and family.
Mom took on many jobs and roles throughout her life, starting at Sanford Credit Union after high school graduation followed by work in Winnipeg, Tartan Graphics in Sanford and secretary for St.Paul’s Lutheran Church in Brunkild. Volunteering for other organizations too including the Sanford Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
In recent years becoming Grandma to Axel, Otto and Prairie, became the highlight of the week whenever they would come and spend the day.
Jigsaw puzzles, go fish, planting flowers and bird watching gave hours of enjoyment. A musical talent on the piano from an early age made mom well known her whole life playing countless hours. Mastering the organ led to playing church services of any kind. Also teaching piano lessons for a few years too. Mom’s cooking will be missed with home baked buns, hashbrown casserole and beef stew, some of our favorites. Making meals to take to the field, giving rides and always an open ear to what was going good or not so good when it was a busy time on the farm. All things we will deeply miss.
Mom always stayed in touch with friends, a church group, a diner party group and a group of school friends that stayed connected even when eventually they became spread out all over the globe.
Our family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at HSC for the excellent care during her short stay and all friends and family for support.
A Celebration of Life and Interment will take place at a later date.
