Berhard and Helena Bergman welcomed Lena into this world as their fifth child (of 18) on April 17, 1935. She married the love of her life, Irvin Harder on June 22, 1957. They were together for the next 43 years until Irvin's passing in April 2000. They had two sons together, Harold James, and Michael (Mike) Scott.
Lena is survived by her son Mike, wife Calleigh, and their 2 children, Jared and Myelle. She is also survived by Harold's daughter Joann, husband Kam, and daughters Wynter and Willow. One of her happiest moments after she was diagnosed with leukemia was holding her great grand daughter Willow. She did have a special place in her heart for babies.
We will all miss her infectious smile. It lit up a room. I would not describe her as the life of the party but she was always making sure there was a party. Camping, family gatherings, card nights, playing games, fish fries, cooking. Mom loved nothing more than spending time with family and friends. Her genuineness and selflessness created many connections that will survive her passing.
Please join the Bergman and Harder families at the EMMC in Winkler on Saturday September 14 at 2:00 pm for the service. Burial will take place in advance of the service for family and invited guests. A fellowship faspa will follow the service.
If anyone would like to honor her memory, you can do so by donating to the BTHC Palliative Care.
