Les was born on November 18, 1940 in Vita Hospital. He was the only child of Emil G. and Annie (nee Becker) Schultz. Les was baptized, confirmed and married in Zion Lutheran Church in Friedensthal. He farmed with his parents, uncles and neighbours until 1996 when he sold the farm and retired to Morden, MB.
