Lois was born on September 8, 1934 and grew up on the family farm northwest of Elm Creek, MB. She attended school at Wingham where she excelled and continued her education by completing Teacher’s College in Winnipeg, MB.
Lois married her soulmate Barry, on October 26, 1957. They resided in Portage la Prairie, MB for a period of time where Lois taught grade school and Barry worked for Forsythe Bros. In December 1962, Barry and Lois moved to the family farm north of Elm Creek, MB, where they dreamed of having a large family, which they indeed succeeded in.
Lois was a devoted wife and mother, always caring for the needs of her family. She was loving, nurturing, supportive, encouraging, considerate, understanding, selfless, attentive, dependable, resilient, but most of all wise and kind.
Lois enjoyed socializing, dancing, family functions and chatting over a hot cup of tea, and if there was any left over, which was rarely ever, she would share with her thriving plants.
Lois’s door was always open, with a warm smile and a welcoming chair at her kitchen table, anytime day or night.
As busy as she was, Lois was proudly involved with many different organizations and community activities. Lois was a lifetime member of the Elm Creek Kinette Club, and volunteered yearly canvassing for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Lois travelled many miles making many friendships along the way.
Lois enjoyed her time spent substitute teaching as well as several years as a Home Care Aid.
Mother was blessed with many grandchildren who she adored, guiding and praising them with every achievement.
May the winds of love blow softly.
And whisper for you to hear.
That we will always love and miss you,
And wish that you were here.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the wonderful staff and caregivers at the Boyne Lodge for their kindness and care shown to Lois each and every day.
Private family funeral service will be held at Doyle’s Funeral Home with interment in Elm Creek Cemetery.
