Margaret graduated from Morden High School and attended Teacher’s College in Winnipeg where she earned her teacher’s certificate. She taught for just a few years before deciding to try nursing. She graduated from the Grace Hospital school of nursing and began her career at the St. Boniface Hospital. She worked general nursing and in the obstetrics department before eventually transitioning to their nursing instruction program.
For many years Margaret loved to play the piano and the organ. She also enjoyed travelling especially making the long trip to Australia to visit brother Doug. With her love of music she subscribed to the Winnipeg Symphony and attended many performances. In her later years she was an avid reader and made almost daily trips to the downtown library. As she was a social butterfly she enjoyed talking to people and making new acquaintances everywhere she went.
Cremation has taken place. A Public Memorial and Inurnment will take place at a later date at the Hillside Cemetery, Morden, MB.
Memorial donations may be made to the St Boniface Hospital Foundation.
